May has arrived – summer and long-awaited holidays are just around the corner! Of course, many of you have already prepared for it, booked hotels, resorts and campsites!
But what about those who want to feel more privacy and seclusion during their holiday? The answer is simple and we have found it!
You will need to find accommodation in the private secluded sector of your destination.
Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons of the two most common ways to find a short-term rental property.
The first one:
Contact a real estate agency either where you live or the real estate agency where your proposed home is located.
In this case, all issues and difficulties will be solved and resolved for you by your agent. This is stipulated both by Italian law and the standard contract with the agency for property selection.
You can always contact the agency during your stay in the house. As a rule, such agencies provide additional services: transfer, translation services, babysitting, cleaning services, car hire, children’s furniture, etc.
In our opinion, this is the most comfortable way of renting accommodation. Especially if you take into account the fact that many tenants at the end of the lease term often have problems with the return of the deposit from the property owner. This issue will also be solved by the agency for you.
The only “drop of tar in a barrel of honey” is the payment of commission to the agency. In Italy, for a house rental agreement for a period of 1 week to 3 months, the commission is usually between 15% and 20%, depending on the term and the value of the rental agreement.
One of the options we can offer for rent for summer 2019 is this house – HOUSE RENTAL IN CAMPIONA FOR SUMMER 2019 June/July/August.
Second:
Self-search. There is also such an option. There are a lot of websites on the Internet with properties that are put up for rent by property owners themselves.
In this case, all the risks “fall” on you. Read carefully the contract that the landlord offers you to sign. Pay attention to penalties and fines.
A painful issue is always the return of the deposit, as I have already written above. Look at the adequacy of the landlord himself. Be vigilant and attentive to everything related to the staffing of the accommodation. Clearly formulate to the owner all your requirements regarding the number of beds and bathrooms.
It is important to ask about the availability of appliances, who repairs them in case of breakdown and in what time frame. Ask for the coordinates of the facility you have chosen. Look on a map to see exactly where it is located. Are the beach and shops, your car park and a bank branch with an ATM located far away?
If you have the opportunity to read reviews, by all means do so. But be aware that Europeans, as my experience shows, are less demanding about the living conditions on holiday.
I hope this information has been helpful to you!
Only an experienced agent can save you from all the problems and difficulties. Practice and experience in all sorts of situations has taught me to be attentive to such little things that, as a rule, no one even pays attention to.
Sincerely, Willina.
