In Campione D’Italia, many utilities are included in condominium bills. But utilities such as: electricity in your flat, gas in your flat (if available), landline telephone in your flat and rubbish tax are not included in the condominium bills. You will connect and pay for these services separately. You will receive bills in your mailbox.

How much is the cost of utilities in Italy?
Yourelectricity bill will come from Enel. Serving Campione the office of this company is located in Camo. After purchasing the property and getting the purchase contract registered in your name, you need to sign a service contract with Enel for the provision of electricity to you.
Your electricity bill will come every 2 months. Each of them is usually about 130 Euros (the flat is about 70 square metres). For late payment or delay of more than one month, “Enel” unilaterally terminates the contract with you. There is a system of electricity cut-off: first, the non-payer is limited in power. After ten days, the electricity supply is stopped completely. Enel bills should be paid immediately (disconnection)! A new connection is possible. This will take time and bring additional inconveniences, among which: the absence of light in your flat, a fine for reconnection and nervousness in a hotline call with the operator. There is one proven way to pay “Enel” – connect your bank in Campione or in Italy (Swiss bank is not suitable). Then the payment will be deducted from your account automatically and you will save yourself and your family from the inconvenience of lack of electricity. The same cautions apply to the contract for gas services (for example, if you have a gas cooker in your flat). These services are also provided by Enel. You should always understand which bills should be paid immediately (they will be disconnected!) and which can wait.
Installation and maintenance of landline telephone and Internet Modem. If you want to have a telephone and internet at home, then you should go to Swisscom. This is a major telecom operator in Switzerland. Although Campione is legally part of Italy, its territorial location on Swiss soil determines your choice of operator. To install a landline telephone in your flat, you must use Swisscom. Other Swiss operators do not provide home telephone and internet modem services in Campione. When you sign the contract, you choose the package of services you want to use. You can also purchase a mobile number from the same operator. For example: the most expensive package of services “Swisscom” consisting of: home number, home unlimited high-speed internet via modem, Swisscom TV through a special reducer -280 channels, cost 109 CHF plus in the same package unlimited mobile number tariff “XXXL” at a price of – 150 CHF. Total: 259 CHF and you – in unlimited mode and at high speed internet traffic on your home computer. There are basic packages, or a package for connection of only home internet modem… The choice is always yours. Within 10 days after signing the contract a specialist will come to you and install all the necessary equipment at your home. Will check its work, will conduct all tests on the speed of the Internet. And also free of charge will register you a mailbox with the name you specify on the closed server Bluwin.ch. It is difficult to register this service on your own. Mailbox on Bluwin.ch. – is included in the internet modem connection package. You will pay Swisscom bimonthly, based on your calls and use of their services. Swisscom invoices must be paid by the due date indicated on the invoice. If you do not pay the invoice on time, you will receive a second reminder to pay. Then another reminder. Then you will receive a text message informing you that you will be disconnected from the service. It is better not to get to this state of paying your bills. But even in this situation you will be “met” if you call and ask them to wait for payment, arguing their delay. Of course, you must be “in good standing” and not a “persistent delinquent”. Payment for network operator’s services can be made automatically by connecting your bank (now only in Switzerland, Italian bank is not suitable). In order to become a Swisscom customer with a past-due payment contract, you must provide a “la carta d’identita” card. If you are not a resident of Campione, you can only use prepaid rooms. If you are not a resident, you do not need to be guided by Swisscom only. You can also buy a mobile phone number from other service providers. There are plenty of them in Switzerland: Orange, Lebara, Sanrise, etc. But these operators do not install landline numbers on the territory of Campione D’Italia and do not provide landline internet.
Invoices for the rubbish tax. You will receive these bills in your mailbox from the company “Creset”. The central office of the company is located in Milan. The calculation is based on tariffs and indicators such as: the number of people registered in the property, the number of metres of the property, the residence or lack thereof, the first home or holiday home…etc.
The envelope with the invoice comes to the post office by registered letter. At the post office in Campione D’Italia you must sign for its receipt. Payment is made once a year.
